Description
Post-accident rhinoplasty can be used to modify the morphology of the nasal pyramid (either partially or completely), and can also be used to correct nasal breathing problems. The aim is to reshape the nose to make it more attractive, and to specifically correct any disfigurements present, whether congenital, the result of trauma or due to the aging process. The aim is to achieve a natural-looking nose that harmonizes with the rest of the face.
Post-accident rhinoplasty , which can be performed on both men and women, can be performed from the end of growth, i.e. from the age of around 16.
Intervention
Rhinoplasty after an accident is usually performed under general anesthesia. It can be carried out on an outpatient basis, i.e. as a day hospitalization, with discharge the same day after a few hours of monitoring. Depending on the case, a short hospital stay may be preferable. The nasal cavities can be cleaned with a variety of absorbent materials. A shaping bandage is often applied to the surface of the nose, and a protective plaster splint is molded and attached to the nose. The procedure can last from 45 minutes to two hours.

Recovery period
Post-operative rhinoplasty after an accident is rarely painful. The main inconvenience in the early days is the inability to breathe through the nose. The appearance of edema (swelling) and sometimes ecchymosis (bruising), especially around the eyelids, varies greatly in severity and duration from one individual to another. It is recommended that you rest and do nothing strenuous in the days following the operation. After a few days (10 to 20 days depending on the extent of the after-effects), you can return to your normal social and professional life. Violent sports and activities should be avoided for the first 3 months.
