Breast augmentation with silicon implants
Breast augmentation involves correcting insufficient breast volume by placing implants (prostheses) behind the mammary gland.
The location of the scar, the position of the prosthesis in relation to the muscle, and the type and size of the prosthesis will be decided during the initial consultation for breast augmentation, based in particular on the patient's anatomy and expressed desires.

Recovery period
The after-effects of breast augmentation surgery can be painful for the first few days. Analgesic treatment is then given for a few days.
A period of convalescence and 8 to 10 days off work should be envisaged. Sport activities can be resumed after one to two months.
Results
After breast augmentation with implants in Geneva, results can be appreciated from the third month onwards, the time needed for the breasts to soften and the prostheses to stabilize. In addition to aesthetic improvements, the psychological impact is often beneficial.
Breast augmentation with autologous fat
Breast augmentation with fat or lipofilling consists in correcting insufficient breast volume with fat taken from the abdomen, thighs, knees, saddlebags and flanks (liposuction).
This technique is reserved for patients who wish to increase the size of their breasts by one cup.
External skin expansion can be used pre- and post-operatively for optimal results.
Mammography and ultrasound are mandatory pre-operatively and 6 months post-operatively.
Intervention
Breast augmentation with autologous fat injections takes place in a Geneva or Genolier clinic under general anesthesia, during which you sleep completely. A one-day hospital stay is usually sufficient.
The fat is harvested, centrifuged and reinjected using microcannulas above and in the pectoralis major muscle, as well as directly under the breast skin, so that no cannulas are introduced into the gland.
Recovery period
There is some soreness in the areas where the fat has been removed.
The breast does not hurt.
Results
This procedure generally leaves no scars. Some of the fat injected (around 20 to 30%) will reabsorb after 3 to 6 months. At this point, the final size of the breast can be determined.
